History is not what happened — it is what one voice insists on remembering.
Words are the only place where the essence of a soul survives. What moves me most about a speech is this — that the speaker may have been gone for years, may already lie underground, and yet the voice goes on. To me, that is the only kind of religion I know, and the truest form of life after death.

記憶深處
The choreodrama Deep in Memory, directed by Tong Ruirui — built on Iris Chang’s account of the Nanjing Massacre — was staged for the first time in Paris, at the Opéra-Comique. The Studio worked with the production team to bring this dance-borne act of remembrance to French audiences.
Where there is no record, there is no history.
